Showing date on printed emails
In Thunderbird, if I print a file copy of an email, it doesn't show the date sent. Is there a way to make this happen, manually or automatically?

Suddenly last week, the behavior of my Local Folders emails changed. Double clicking caused a reply-to default, not an open in a new window default. All sub-folders seem to have this problem even new ones. Right clicking shows a menu where New Message From template is the default. No other accounts have this problem, but Local Folders is my main email area. Flags show the Inbox as an Inbox, not a Template. Opening a new subfolder under Local Folders indicates that Local Folders is renamed somehow as Templates somewhere in the underside of Thunderbird. I see threads about recent All Mail issues, but this seems different. I have also tried JustAnswers but am unsure that the issue will be fixed with just redoing the Inbox folder. I have also tried the Conifg Editor to change the default right click menus as recommended in various help forums but to no avail. It looks like some part of Thunderbird is handling Local Folders as before, but other parts are assuming it is a Templates folder with Templates characteristics, which it is not. Is there something else I should try?

I had a scammer in my email. I've since taken the computer to a 'fixer' guy --and they got the intruder out. BUT my read emails are disappearing after a short time. Is there some setting that automatically deletes them? how can I find it and change it??

I want Thunderbird to stop marking everything I delete as having been read. The way it works now, if I accidentally delete mail that I haven't read yet it's much more difficult to find it when everything is marked read even when it wasn't. I searched everywhere and haven't come up with a solution for this. It was reported as a bug years ago and was never fixed.

I have resisted automatic update of Thunderbird using "check but notify me." For whatever reason on 11/27/2025 Thunderbird was updated to 115.10.1 and it was an unsatisfactory change. Two thing immediately got by attention: 1) the menu bar had been changed and all open tabs had been removed. And 2) I could not find anyway to customize views (see the uploaded image). After two days of fighting this change trying to re-enable custom views, I preserved my mail folders then uninstalled Thunderbird 64-bit and restored Thunderbird 32-bit from an image backup of C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird. That of-course required me to set up my profile again and copy the saved mail folders to the new profile directory tree.
I don't like automatic closing of tabs in 115.10.1 and for that alone would not upgrade beyond what I'm now running.
And I can't work without setting up custom views to show messages automatically sent by my UNIX client's nightly backup process. My default view is to "Filter Super User" as all automatic client backup reports come from the root (superuser) account.
The 115.10.1 had some type of filtering named "Quick View" (This is from my memory as I can't consult a running 115.10.1 installation) that is inadequate as it did not offer a way to save the views for later use (that I could find in my frantic state).

I've been able to drag emails from my old laptop to subfolders using IMAP. The folders are on the server and with my old laptop, I could drag emails from any account to any folder, regardless of which account it was created under. I started trying to do that with a new laptop and it won't let me drag the email. I have to go through the move > search for folder > select folder process. It's a pain in the butt, especially if I have a lot of emails I want to move. Since I could do it on my old laptop, I'm thinking it's some kind of setting that I have on one that I don't have on the other. I just can't figure out what I did differently on the new laptop that it won't let me drag and drop the emails where I want them.

Running Thunderbird 140.5.0esr
This has been happening for a few weeks now somewhat randomly. The folders under Mail for one of my accounts keep moving around and are not in alphabetical order anymore. Most folders are OK, but a few either jump to the top of bottom of the list. I can manually drag them back, only for different folders to do it the next time.
The folders in questions are 2 levels down from Mail.

As it turns out, my LOCAL FOLDERS is a sub-file in my account. I have a whole bunch of sub-files within the LOCAL FOLDERS sub-file. When I right click on that file, it does not give me the option to reorganize (re-alphabetize) that sub-file. In other words, I want to reorganize the sub-files of a sub-file. Is this just not an option, or is there a way to do this?
My TB (latest version) keeps forgetting one of the folders is marked as a favorite. Why does it do that? Where are the settings for the folders stored? Thanks.
